Miss Myra & The Moonshiners w/ The Good Time Gals and Average Joey
September 19 @ 7:00 pm – 10:00 pm
Miss Myra and The Moonshiners
Miss Myra and The Moonshiners are a formidable 5-piece swing band with a fresh sound grounded in early jazz and blues, playing original music amid a broad repertoire of classics from the ‘20s and ‘30s. Discontent to be re-enactors, they have developed a singular style which continues to delight audiences and dance halls with the spirit of a musical tradition at its centennial.
The Good Time Gals
The Good Time Gals are an all Gal band specializing in original material that pulls influences of Americana, Blues, Vintage Jazz, Honky Tonk, and Western Swing. Our sound is further elevated by our rich vocal harmonies and bold arrangements, backed by some killer guitar, fiddle and cello bass. All of this results in a sound that is wholly unique and will surely keep toes tapping and hearts hummin’ along well after the show has ended. The gals have performed at some of the finest venues/festivals in Minnesota including The Fine Line, and The Dakota and Bayfront Blues Fest in Duluth, MN.
Average Joey – (trio) Traveling folkster, street savvy songwriter and radical poet. Average Joey bounces around stylistically weaving between folk, country, ragtime, & punk with an emphasis on lyricism. His poetry varies from powerful personal narratives to sharp social commentary. His work ranges from the politically poignant to imagery laden spooky stuff. His stories are sprinkled with doomsday humor as well as hopeful invitations to imagine a better world.
