Bryan Murray Trio with an opening set by Early Planets

Murray – Saxophones Adam Linz – Bass Dan Monaghan – Drummer from NYC This is a new trio featuring NYC Drummer Dan Monaghan, and Adam Linz of Fat Kid Wednesdays fame. This will blow your hair back. After 20 years of performing in the NY music scene, Bryan Murray has recently relocated to Apple Valley, Minnesota with his family. With an established background and education in jazz, Bryan pushed boundaries and led the “avant country” band Bryan and the Haggards, focusing on the songwriting of country music legend Merle Haggard. He has also been a regular sideman on other projects including Moppa Elliott’s Unspeakable Garbage, and Jon Lundbom’s Big Five Chord, and had the opportunity to join the “Love This Giant” tour with David Byrne and St. Vincent. Some of Bryan’s latest projects utilize his prepared saxophone the “balto!” and are recorded under the pseudonym Balto Exclamationpoint.
Opening Set : Early Planets
Mike Wolter – Guitar Cody McKinney – Bass Cory Healey – Drums Early Planets is a creative focus for Guitarist Mike Wolter. Having recently completed a 12-concert series funded by the Minnesota State Arts Board, Mike Wolter is continuing to showcase his eclectic original music with his frequent collaborators Cory Healey and Cody McKinney in their trio, “The Early Planets.” The repertoire for “The Early Planets” draws on elements of jazz, blues, folk, indie, and Americana. Wolter has worked with many of the Twin Cities’ most celebrated artists including Sarah M. Greer, Anthony Cox, Nathan Hanson, Michelle Kinney, Chris Hepola, Brandon Wozniak, Davu Seru, Tasha Baron, and more.
